The collaboration will see Genesis staff embedded within IDEC Sport's two-car ORECA 07 LMP2 program, gaining valuable experience in ACO-sanctioned racing before their Hypercar debut.
Key aspects of the partnership:
- IDEC Sport will provide expertise in LMP racing and ACO regulations
- Strategic location near ORECA headquarters and Circuit Paul Ricard
- Equal split of Genesis and IDEC personnel at each event
- Development platform for potential future Genesis factory drivers
Driver lineup for IDEC's No. 18 car:
- Logan Sargeant (ex-F1 driver)
- Jamie Chadwick (former W Series champion)
- Mathys Jaubert (French racing talent)
The partnership marks a significant step for both organizations:
- IDEC Sport returns to a two-car LMP2 program
- Genesis gains practical experience before its LMDh debut
- Opportunity to evaluate and develop drivers for future factory programs
This strategic approach allows Genesis to build experience and relationships within the endurance racing community while developing their GMR-001 LMDh car for its 2026 debut. Track testing is expected to begin in summer 2025, leading up to homologation.
