Hauger dominates St. Pete qualifying to claim maiden Indy NXT pole

Dennis Hauger delivered an outstanding performance in his Indy NXT debut, securing pole position for the season-opening Grand Prix of St. Petersburg with a record-breaking lap of 1m3.8801s in the No. 28 Rental Group Andretti Global car.

The Norwegian driver's impressive qualifying performance broke the previous Indy NXT track record of 1m04.5759s set by Nolan Siegel. Hauger's dominance was evident throughout the weekend, leading Friday's practice and finishing second in Saturday morning's pre-qualifying session.

Hauger brings significant experience to Indy NXT, including the 2021 FIA Formula 3 Championship title and five wins in Formula 2. His transition to Indy NXT marks his pursuit of advancing to the NTT IndyCar Series.
