IndyCar Streaming Plans Hit Roadblock as Venu Platform Shuts Down
The NTT IndyCar Series faces a significant streaming challenge following its move from NBC and Peacock to FOX, leaving fans without an affordable streaming option.

Initially, IndyCar planned two viewing options: FOX Sports app authentication for cable subscribers and the Venu Sports app as an independent subscription service. However, a lawsuit from Fubo TV halted Venu's launch, and despite the case being dropped following Fubo's merger with Disney, Venu Sports ultimately closed when major partners ESPN, FOX, and Warner Brothers withdrew.
The collapse of Venu Sports creates a significant price increase for streaming viewers. While NBC's Peacock offered IndyCar streaming for $8-14 monthly, fans without cable must now choose between:
- YouTube TV ($83/month)
- Hulu + Live TV ($82-96/month)
- Regional streaming services (prices vary)
Penske Entertainment indicates they will first establish their FOX partnership before exploring more affordable streaming alternatives. The goal is to find a solution closer to Peacock's previous price point rather than the current options that cost nearly ten times more.
