Jorge Prado Adapts to Intense AMA Supercross Challenge
Jorge Prado, the two-time MXGP World Champion, is embracing the challenges of transitioning to Monster Energy AMA Supercross racing with a pragmatic approach to learning and improvement.

The 24-year-old Spanish rider faced an early setback at Anaheim's third round when he dislocated his right shoulder during practice. Despite this setback, he remains focused on his long-term goals in the championship.
Prado acknowledges the significant differences between MXGP and supercross, noting the higher entertainment factor and show-like atmosphere of American racing compared to the more business-oriented European scene. "It's more like a show... Here, it is more fancy kind of stuff, but at the same time, it is go time when we are on track," he explains.

The competitive landscape presents unique challenges, with Prado competing against five former 450SX champions and numerous 250cc title holders. He's realistic about his current position, often finding himself in mid-pack battles as he develops his supercross skills.
Key adjustments for Prado include:
- Adapting to night racing
- Managing longer pit times
- Dealing with intense heat races
- Learning new track layouts
- Developing different riding techniques
While winning the championship isn't his immediate goal, Prado's focus remains on steady improvement and progression. "I just want to give it 100-percent every weekend and see where we end up. Then we want to replicate that next weekend and get better," he states, targeting potential top-five finishes and podiums as realistic achievements for his rookie season.
