
Motorsports Veteran Mel Harder Appointed as Laguna Seca General Manager
Mel Harder has been appointed as President and General Manager of WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca by Friends of Laguna Seca.

With three decades of motorsports experience, Harder joins from his previous role as team manager at Chip Ganassi Racing. His impressive career includes positions as senior vice president and general manager of Circuit of The Americas and SVP of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, bringing extensive expertise in international event hosting and facility management.
Lauri Eberhart, CEO of Friends of Laguna Seca, emphasized that Harder's background makes him ideally suited to strengthen WeatherTech Raceway and Laguna Seca Recreation Area operations. His appointment aims to benefit local and motorsports communities, partners, and fans while advancing the venue's revitalization efforts.
In his new position, Harder will work alongside Eberhart and the raceway team to implement new business strategies, enhance operational performance, and develop innovative experiences for guests, motorsports series, and partners. Harder expressed enthusiasm about contributing to the venue's legacy as a world-class entertainment destination.
