Nissan dominates opening Jeddah E-Prix practice with Rowland-Nato 1-2

Oliver Rowland secured the top spot in the first practice session of the Jeddah E-Prix, leading a Nissan 1-2 finish with teammate Norman Nato.

Rowland, fresh from his victory in Mexico City, posted a fastest time of 1m15.849s with 15 minutes remaining in the session. Nato finished 0.131s behind, securing second place with a late push.

The top five was completed by:

  • Edoardo Mortara in third, just 0.089s behind Nato
  • Sam Bird in fourth for NEOM McLaren
  • Dan Ticktum in fifth for Cupra Kiro

Notable performances included Pascal Wehrlein in sixth, followed by former champions Stoffel Vandoorne and current points leader Antonio Felix da Costa. Maximilian Guenther and Mitch Evans completed the top 10, with Evans overcoming early throttle issues.

All drivers utilized the full 350kW power output with four-wheel-drive during their fastest laps. The second practice session is scheduled for Friday at 7:20 ET, marking the weekend's only daylight session.

The rest of the field saw Nick Cassidy in 11th despite drivability issues, while Andretti's Nico Mueller and Jake Dennis finished 12th and 14th respectively. The session concluded with Lucas di Grassi and Taylor Barnard at the back of the pack.
