Sergio Perez is taking time to evaluate his future following his unexpected exit from Red Bull Formula 1 team at the end of 2024. The Mexican driver's departure came after a challenging season where he secured only four podium finishes.

While Red Bull team principal Christian Horner suggested Perez chose to take a break from F1, Perez's comments at the Leon State Fair indicate the decision wasn't initially his. "Everything happened very quickly at the end of the season, so I didn't expect it," Perez explained.

The 14-year F1 veteran remains open to returning to the sport if presented with an appealing opportunity. "If I receive a good, interesting project, then I'll definitely consider it," he stated. However, his immediate priorities lie elsewhere.

For the first time since beginning his racing career at age six, Perez finds himself with complete schedule freedom. He plans to use 2025 to:

• Spend more time with family
• Travel leisurely to explore new places
• Enjoy activities he couldn't during his racing career
• Evaluate his next career move

Perez will make a decision about his future in the next six months, but for now, he's embracing his new lifestyle. "I'm very calm, very happy, enjoying time with my children, family, and friends," he shared, highlighting his satisfaction with the current situation despite its unexpected nature.
