PREMA Racing and Michael Cannon have ended their partnership, just days after Cannon was introduced as the team's head of engineering at their January 10 launch event at GM's Charlotte Technical Center.

The split comes as a significant setback for PREMA's IndyCar program, as Cannon's extensive experience, particularly with Indianapolis 500 and oval racing expertise, was expected to accelerate the Italian team's learning curve in their debut season.

Despite this departure, PREMA maintains a strong technical foundation with several experienced IndyCar engineers, including Steve Barker, who will now play a crucial role in developing the team's competitive program.

Cannon, who previously served as technical director at A.J. Foyt Racing, is expected to find new opportunities in the IndyCar paddock quickly given his championship-winning credentials and technical expertise.
