Thornton Powers to First Lucas Oil Victory at Hagerstown Speedway

Ricky Thornton Jr. captured his first-ever Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory at Hagerstown Speedway in the Conococheague 50, earning $25,000 for the win. The reigning series champion took the lead from Garrett Alberson on lap 32 and maintained it until the checkered flag, winning by a margin of 2.984 seconds.

Alberson led the first 31 laps before finishing second, while Daulton Wilson completed the Big River Steel Podium in third. Gregg Satterlee and Brandon Sheppard rounded out the top five.

The victory marked Thornton's fifth series win of the season and his 47th career Lucas Oil triumph, moving him to fourth place on the all-time wins list. He became the 14th different winner in 15 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events at Hagerstown.

Thornton's winning Koehler Motorsports Longhorn Chassis is powered by a Clements Racing Engine. The Arizona driver now leads the Big River Steel Chase for the Championship with 2,130 points, followed by Devin Moran (2,065) and Jonathan Davenport (1,940).
