Ty Masterpool Makes Unexpected Switch to 250SX West Region Supercross
In a surprising turn of events, Ty Masterpool is set to join Garrett Marchbanks in the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team for the 250SX West Region round at Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego. Originally slated for the East Region, Masterpool's shift comes following Levi Kitchen's withdrawal due to illness.

Masterpool enters this challenge after a strong 2024 season, where he secured fifth overall in the 250cc AMA Nationals and ninth in the SuperMotocross World Championship. Despite missing the Angel Stadium opening round, he's quickly adapting to his new schedule and machinery.
"I'm a little underprepared, but it's all good," Masterpool states. "The priority is outdoors this year. I want to gain the most experience I can so I can be a title contender next year in supercross."

The Texan rider is particularly impressed with his new KX250F, noting the bike's superior handling in the whoops compared to his previous privateer equipment. His recent SuperMotocross World Championship experience, where he showed steady improvement with finishes of 12th, 11th, and 7th, provides a solid foundation for this new challenge.
Approaching the West Region competition with measured expectations, Masterpool emphasizes personal growth over immediate results. "There aren't really any expectations. It's more like me versus me and let the results come naturally," he explains. "I got thrown into the deep end a little bit, but I'm a racer and I'm always ready to go racing."
