Jake Hughes says Taylor Barnard's defensive move in the Jeddah E-Prix was aggressive but fair, following their intense battle for second place in the closing stages of the race.

Despite being forced off track on the penultimate lap at Turn 1, Hughes showed good sportsmanship, stating "it's on the edge, but I'd probably do the same." The Maserati MSG driver secured his third Formula E podium and his first with the team since joining this season.

The podium finish follows Hughes' fifth place in Friday's race, demonstrating strong consistency for the team. Race winner Oli Rowland proved too strong to challenge, but Hughes' performance helped move Stellantis to second in the manufacturers' championship.

Hughes highlighted the strong performance of all Stellantis-powered cars, including the DS Penske team that won Friday's race with Maximilian Guenther. With all four Stellantis cars regularly scoring points, Hughes believes they're well-positioned to challenge Nissan for the championship lead.

"To get these points on the board now, hopefully we can have strong rest of the season as well," Hughes concluded, expressing optimism about their championship prospects.
