The iconic black Ford Trophy-Truck, now owned by Mark Post of Riviera Racing, will be shared between Gordon, his son Max, and Post during the three-lap race. Gordon will handle qualifying and the first lap, Max will take the second, and Post will bring it home for the finish.

The "Black Diamond" truck, designed by Gordon in the early 1990s, revolutionized off-road racing with innovative features including internal bypass shocks, swing set steering, and removable brake rotor hats. Built without modern CAD or waterjet machines, the handcrafted machine dominated the 1996 SCORE season with four overall wins and a Trophy-Truck championship.

Recent updates include an 1,100 horsepower Joe Gibbs Racing engine and a Masonmatic sequential gearbox, while maintaining the original chassis, suspension, and Clay Dean-designed body shape.

The 2025 Parker 400 features nearly 130 entries, including 14 Trophy-Truck and Class 1 unlimited vehicles. The event schedule includes:

  • Friday 7:30am: Parker 400 Motorcycle Race
  • Friday 1:00pm: Limited Race
  • Saturday 8:00am: Youth Races
  • Saturday 10:00am: Parker 400 Unlimited Race

"Black Diamond" racing achievements include 19 overall victories between 1994 and 2019, spanning SCORE, BITD, and NORRA events, including the prestigious 2007 Baja 1000.

This event marks the first of four rounds in the 2025 UNLTD Off-Road Racing Series, followed by the Mint 400 (March), Reno 600 (April), and California 300 (October).

"For me, this weekend is more than a reunion with a piece of my past," said Gordon. "This is also about spending time with Max for another step in his career. Parker has always been special to the Gordon family."
