Prodromou, who rejoined McLaren from Red Bull in 2014, has been instrumental in the team's transformation from midfield contender to championship winner. After initially serving as chief engineer, he assumed his current role in early 2023, helping lead McLaren to their ninth Formula 1 Constructors' Championship.

Team Principal Andrea Stella praised Prodromou's leadership, highlighting his crucial role in the team's performance turnaround both on and off the track. The extension follows recent contract renewals for Stella himself and drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

"I am delighted to continue my role as technical director, aerodynamics at McLaren F1 Team," said Prodromou. "Following last season's success, I look forward to contributing further to our shared ambition of securing more world championships."

Prodromou, 56, works alongside Neil Houldey (technical director, engineering) and Mark Temple (technical director, performance) in McLaren's technical leadership structure, with Rob Marshall serving as chief designer following David Sanchez's departure.
