Previously serving as A.J. Foyt Racing's technical director until early November, Cannon brings impressive credentials to PREMA's Indianapolis-based operation, where he will oversee engineering for drivers Callum Ilott and rookie Robert Shwartzman under team owners Rene Rosin and Angelina Ertsou.

Cannon's recent success includes transforming Foyt's team into a front-running organization. His earlier achievement at Chip Ganassi Racing as Scott Dixon's race engineer resulted in the 2020 championship—Dixon's sixth title—and back-to-back Indianapolis 500 pole positions.

Throughout his career, Cannon has demonstrated particular success with smaller teams, including HVM Racing, Ed Carpenter Racing, Dale Coyne Racing, and Foyt. His expertise has consistently helped these organizations compete more effectively against larger competitors.

PREMA's IndyCar journey begins in March, with Cannon's appointment expected to significantly accelerate the team's competitive development beyond initial projections.
