Record 42-Car Field Set for Michelin Pilot Challenge Daytona Opener

A total of 42 cars will compete in the 2025 Michelin Pilot Challenge opener at the four-hour BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona, with 26 GT4 cars in the GS class and 16 TCR touring cars.

Notable debuts include the BMW M4 GT4 EVO and Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2. Turner Motorsport, Auto Technic Racing, and CarBahn with Peregrine Racing will field the new BMW models, while RAFA Racing, Hattori Motorsports, and Kingpin Racing will run the Toyota entries.

Defending GS class champions Team TGM returns with two Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 'Evo' models. The lineup features 2024 GS champion Matt Plumb partnering with Paul Holton in the No.46, while Ted Giovanis, Hugh Plumb, and Kris Wilson will pilot the No.64.

The TCR class features 16 entries, including seven Hyundais, five Audi RS3 LMS TCRs, three Honda Civic TCRs, and a debut appearance of the Cupra Leon VZ TCR with Gou Racing. Bryan Herta Autosport leads the Hyundai contingent with four entries, including 2024 runners-up Mason Filippi and Mark Wilkins in separate cars.

Key entries in other classes include:

  • Five Ford Mustang GT4s, including KoHR Motorsports' entries featuring Billy Johnson Jr.
  • RS1's Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 with Luca Mars and Jan Heylen
  • A McLaren Artura GT4 from Accelerating Performance
  • Winward Racing's Mercedes-AMG GT4

The race begins Friday, January 24 at 1:45pm ET, with live coverage available on Peacock in the US and IMSA TV internationally.
