Record 61 Cars Set for Historic 63rd Rolex 24 At Daytona

The 63rd Rolex 24 At Daytona will feature a record-breaking field of 61 entries across four classes, marking the largest grid in recent history for IMSA's season-opening endurance race.

The Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class reaches a new milestone with 12 entries, including Cadillac's expanded three-car effort, Proton Competition's entry, and the debut of the Lamborghini SC63. Notable drivers include Gianmaria Bruni and Neel Jani in Proton's Porsche 963, while the new Lamborghini features an impressive lineup with Romain Grosjean, Daniil Kvyat, and others.

LMP2 class matches GTP with 12 entries, featuring returning champion CrowdStrike Racing by APR and newcomer PECOM Racing. The field includes notable names like Colton Herta, Pietro Fittipaldi, and Callum Ilott.

GTD PRO class boasts 15 entries, including Proton Competition's Porsche 911 GT3 R and 75 Express (formerly SunEnergy1). The GTD class features 22 cars, with the Ferrari 296 GT3 dominating with nine entries across both GTD categories.

Several team lineups remain to be confirmed, including both Vasser Sullivan Racing Lexus entries and Paul Miller Racing's BMW efforts. Former Ford factory driver Joey Hand is set to compete in Gradient Racing's new Ford Mustang GT3.

The event begins with the Roar Before the 24 (January 17-19), followed by the main race weekend (January 23-26) at Daytona International Speedway.
