Ryan Smith Edges Dietz in Thrilling Kauffman Classic Battle
Ryan Smith captured the 2025 Keith Kauffman Classic at Port Royal Speedway, taking home the $15,000 prize against a field of 36 410 sprint cars. Smith held off a charging Chase Dietz in an intense battle during the final laps.

Race car celebrates Derby victory
Starting from the outside of row two, Smith took the lead early from Lucas Wolfe and built a commanding 3-second advantage. As lapped traffic came into play, Dietz worked his way from ninth to challenge for the win.

Dirt track sprint cars racing
With two laps remaining, Dietz pulled alongside Smith and attempted a slide job in turn 1. The move resulted in Dietz making contact with the turn 2 wall, allowing Smith to secure his second victory of the season. Chase Dietz finished second, while Lance Dewease charged from 12th to complete the podium.
In the USAC East Coast Wingless Sprint Cars feature, Christian Bruno capitalized on a late-race opportunity to pass Briggs Danner for the win. Danner held on for second with Kenny Miller III taking third.
The Wingless Sportsman division saw Tony Jackson emerge victorious after passing early leader Steve Wilbur with five laps remaining. Wilbur finished second, followed by Billy Brian Jr. in third.
