NASCAR Confirms Safety Rules for Pit Stall Sharing Between Teams
NASCAR has officially clarified that teams are permitted to pit in another team's pit stall when addressing safety concerns, despite receiving penalties for doing so.
The clarification comes after Christopher Bell had his left-front wheel tightened in teammate Chase Briscoe's pit stall at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. While the move was tactically sound, Bell still received a penalty for pitting outside his designated stall.

The updated guidelines for all three national series state:
Teams addressing safety issues in another team's pit stall will receive a flag status penalty (either restart at field's tail or pass-through). Safety issues include:
- Tightening loose wheel nuts
- Removing fuel cans
- Removing wedge wrenches
- Removing jacks from under vehicles
Competition adjustments made in another team's pit stall may result in lap penalties.
NASCAR emphasizes that these aren't new rules but rather clarifications of existing policies. The organization prioritizes addressing safety issues on pit road over risking equipment or tire detachment during races.
